The second runway at Abu Dhabi International Airport, which was officially opened in October 2008, is part of a large scaleEtihad AED 25 billion redevelopment and expansion project at the airport. A Midfield Terminal Complex will complete the redevelopment within the next few years, increasing the annual capacity to 40 million passengers. Etihad Airways Terminal 3 at Abu Dhabi International Airport, opened in February 2009, is dedicated to Etihad and extends the airport’s capacity by 5 million Guests per year.

The new Pearl Zone seat reclines 180 degrees into a fully flat, comfortable, 6 ft 1-inch Business Bed. The new Diamond Suites feature revolutionary seats that rotate 180 degrees — creating a perfect setting for a business meeting or a quiet dinner — and recline into luxurious 6 ft 8-inch flat beds. Each Diamond Suite has a privacy shell that ensures you get maximum space and direct access to the aisles. And within this space, you will find a range of facilities, including a coatroom, a mini-bar, a fold-and-swivel meal table, an integrated personal mirror, a magazine rack, a reading light and a desk lamp.
The new First Class Cabin features a 82 inch long private suite with a 80.5 inches fully flat bed, with bed width of 29.75 inches. For increased privacy every First Class Suite is equipped with Arabic styled sliding privacy doors. For the entertainment on board every Suite features a 23 inch personal TV/video screen, with in-flight entertainment system that allows customers to pause, stop, fast-forward or rewind up to 600 hours of films, TV and radio programmes, and play games. To be able to use electronic equipment on board, every suite offers a in-seat power sockets for PCs, iPod connector, USB ports, Ethernet port and audio jack.

Diamond Zone Guests can currently enjoy this courtesy service in the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Germany and Australia, soon to be extended to other destinations of the growing network.

At Abu Dhabi International Airport,Etihad airways the Diamond Zone guests can relax at the exclusive Etihad Premium Lounge. Elegant, warm and welcoming, the lounge offers all the comfort, space and facilities that you may require to make your journey through the airport a pleasant experience. The lounge is well equipped with laptop connections, high-speed Internet access, and fax and telephone facilities. There’s also an excellent range of audio and video programmes to keep you entertained. And there’s a fine selection of refreshments and hot and cold buffet dishes to choose from

Etihad Guest Miles are earned at the rate of at least one Etihad Guest Mile for every mile you fly with Etihad Airways. In addition, you will receive an extra Zone Bonus of 50% Etihad Guest Miles for flying in the Etihad Airways Pearl Zone and a 100% Zone Bonus whenever you fly in the luxurious Etihad Airways Diamond Zone. Etihad Guest Silver and Etihad Guest Gold members also qualify for Tier Bonuses. Tier Bonuses are earned at the rate of 25% of miles flown for Etihad Guest Silver and 50% of miles flown for Etihad Guest Gold. For example, if you fly from London to Abu Dhabi you'll travel 3,409 miles. As an Etihad Guest member flying in the Coral Zone you will earn 3,409 Etihad Guest Miles each way. Etihad Guest Miles expire three years from the date they were first earned. Expired miles will be deducted from your account twice a year, at the end of June and December.  While Etihad Guest Miles can be redeemed for rewards, Etihad Guest Tier Miles/ Segments contribute towards your eligibility for either of our premium tiers — Etihad Guest Silver and Etihad Guest Gold. Etihad Guest Tier Segments are earned at a rate of one Tier Segment for each flight flown in the Coral Zone, two Tier Segments in the Pearl Zone and three Tier Segments in Diamond Zone. Etihad Guest Tier Miles are reset to zero at the start of each calendar year, but to ensure that we capture all the Tier Miles you earn during the qualifying period, you will receive a bonus three months at the end of your membership period during which time you can continue to enjoy the benefits of your Etihad Guest Tier. Earn a minimum of one Etihad Guest Mile for every mile you fly on a qualifying flight with one of the air partners.

The Etihad Airways logo will appear on the front of Manchester City shirts from the start of the 2009/2010 football season. The three-year partnership was announced in May at the City of Manchester Stadium by Etihad Airways’ Chief Executive, James
Hogan, Manchester City FC Chief Executive Garry Cook and Sir Howard Bernstein, Chief Executive of Manchester City Council. The new partnership marks the beginning of what Etihad hopes will become a strong and lasting relationship with the club. As well as having the Etihad logo on the club’s shirt, there will also be Etihad Airways branding at the City of Manchester stadium, on its website, match day programmes and merchandise Etihad Airways and Manchester City FC will work together on building ties between Abu Dhabi and Manchester, especially with youngsters, through the airline’s highly successful soccer school programmes.
